Cloud Nothings is recent High School graduate Dylan Baldi. In his suburban Cleveland bedroom, he recorded 9 songs with limited resources. What makes Turning On special is that each one of the 9 songs is an indelible pop song bursting through a cloud of lo-fi fuzz.
Baldi seems to have that songwriting gene that prevents him from writing a hook that isn't instantly infectious. He also knows when to add "OOOS","AHHHS", and even a well placed whistle into his songs. Take a listen to the tracks posted below, and just try to get them out of your head.
Cloud Nothings have recently started playing shows, so expect to see more of them around town, or at SXSW, or whatever other area of the country gets to hear this record. Also, expect many more records from Cloud Nothings, as Dylan has a reputation for writing songs non-stop.
Turning On was originally released in 2009 on cassette via Bridgetown Records, and is now available on LP (with download) from Speakertree. It was pressed here in Cleveland at Gotta Groove Records!
