The first Foals album was one of those records that basically just showed that the band had promise. With Total Life Forever, Foals are starting to deliver on that promise.
Foals come from a long line of clean sounding, intelligent, shimmering, anthemic british bands. You'll hear elements of Doves, Coldplay, Radiohead, and Bloc Party in the mix. You'll also hear some world music elements mixed in, including reggae, which on some tracks make Foals sound more like a modern day Police.
If Total Life Forever isn't their breakthrough to a wider audience, you get the feeling that it's coming soon. Don't be surprised if these guys are headlining giant festivals in the next few years.
