Cleveland's Herzog have been making quite a name for themselves since they debuted in 2010. Made up of scene veterans, Herzog is the new project from Nick Tolar, who was the driving force behind the exquisite Expecting Rain, and also spent time in Dreadful Yawns. Here Nick has traded in his acoustic guitar for some serious electric muscle, harkening back to the hey-day of 90's indie GUITAR ROCK. There are some serious jams on this record, which isn't to say that Tolar has completely abandoned his soft side. West Boulevard is a gorgeous ode of sorts to growing up in Cleveland, and even the heaviest tracks here have a soft core. Tolar is a gifted songwriter, and we're proud to share a city with him.
