Papercuts make their Sub Pop debut with Fading Parade, and it sounds like a major step forward for them. The best bits of their last two releases have been distilled into a cohesive record that plays to all their strengths. Soft-psych sounds, coupled with irresistible melodies, make this their best collection to date. All the innate talents of songwriter Jason Quever are made all the more beautiful by the lush arrangements and pitch-perfect production. In short, the record is gorgeous.
