If you're reading this, it's likely that you like "difficult" music. Some music may be difficult on the listener and cracking it's code is one of the reasons that enjoying "difficult" music can be so satisfying.
But, there's a different type of difficult music – the kind that is difficult to make, but easy on the listener. Days is such a record. Every second of this record is so pitch-perfect that it could not have come easy. It's easy to imagine the band spending weeks tweaking the reverb on various songs, and many sleepless nights trying to decide if they should add that thin synth line to the bridge of "It's Real" (Spoiler Alert: They did!).
Days fall release seems less like a coincidence and more as a way to present the record to the world in the most optimal way. There is a certain haze and coolness to the songs that perfectly compliment and define the season.
Days is the type of record seemingly divorced from any current trends or styles. It has a timeless quality, and even if you can't consciously appreciate the effort that went into these seemingly simple songs, it's that time and effort that makes it stand apart from anything else that sounds like it.
