We won't see any more disappointed faces, at least not because of this record. You see, Hope and Adams is one of the Team's all-time favorite records, but it has been out-of-print since we opened. When we'd play it in the store, inevitably someone would want to buy it, and then we'd have to give them the bad news. We've even committed record-store-owner blasphemy and burned copies of it for people. It has an immediate intimacy that most find irresistible. It barely breaks out if it's mid-tempo pace, but is incredibly dynamic at the same time. Credit goes to producer Dave Fridmann for culling all the nuance out of the music. Album centerpiece "Don't I Hold You" should be on every 90s indie-rock mix. Hope and Adams is a true classic, and we are excited for people to now discover this lost gem.
The reissue is packaged with Wheat's first album, the very good Medeiros, and a 3rd CD of rarities and outtakes.
